LONG BEACH FLEA MARKET JANUARY 2011

Welcome to the latest installment in my series of dilettante documentation of my occasional jaunts to the Long Beach Flea Market!

SUNDAY THE 16TH

Vintage jacket, shirt and bolo tie, Levi's jeans, calf hair boots

Hung up on the pairing of my bolo tie and nylon jacket. I love the instant sensation of vintage that my long sleeve shirt gives off (also kind of resembles a Spanish soccer jersey I've been told). I slapped together a mood board for this post...

I can never emphasize enough the joys of muted white stitching.

I picked up a lot of cool stuff in L.A. - stay tuned!

THE LEMON POST

Happy 2011 everyone! Decided to kick off this year with a post that would make more sense if this was 40 years earlier, stuck in the 70s as usual. Perpetual 70s dress-up has allowed me to relive problems that have not faced mankind for generations, like muddy bell bottoms.

My dad got me this western tie when he and my mom were out of town. I never used to like the way a western tie looked with anything but a collard shirt, but lately I've been wearing it over tee shirts and between jackets and I haven't had a problem with what I've seen.

Heading to LA tomorrow - will be sure to report back with some cool finds!
