MILES DAVIS' CLOSET

Scanned this from a book I borrowed from the library a while back. My brain gets the same reaction from looking at this photo as it does after just walking into a vintage store loaded with stylish wears. Definitely motivation towards building a closet of my own that evokes a similar response!

Hope to find time to snap some decent outfit photos soon or at least put together a post of some inspirational menswear or somethin. I need to stop gallivanting around and stop neglecting my poor blog... but it's summer! I'm on the cusp of another major wardrobe restructuring (AKA hauling garbage bags busting with clothes to buffalo exchange. Thus completing the wardrobe circle of life, only to immediately begin again), so I'll most likely report back when that's all sorted out.

We all have some sort of inspiration reserve for certain subjects. Unfortunately, the account of the number one site I used for David Bowie pics has been suspended! I did save most of my favorites though, so I figured I'd ensure that these amazing photos be scattered off into the internet. Plus I take any excuse to post away from myself, since I consider myself to be to fashion blogging photography as Richard Nixon was to presidential photography. I'm pretty sure all the pics may not fit perfectly on the page, but I figured you guys would appreciate every byte of the original size more for saving and whatnot.

Scanned these pics from a book on Japan I borrowed from the library. In the process of hunting down some decent geta sandals for myself... but I would much rather have the pair of sandals the puppeteer is wearing!

I've been scanning like a mad man lately, so expect a post sometime this week! I was thinking of starting an image blog since I've always secretly wanted to anyway. That way there'd be a part of the Denim on Denim universe that'd be updated more routinely. What do you guys think? I just have to settle on a name lol!

Well since I haven't had the time to throw together a decent outfit post (I mean other than my uniform of vintage tees and jeans - unless you guys wanna see that. I mean, I love it but I dunno I thought you guys might find it boring.) I figured I'd post some pictures of men/guys/fellas/whathaveyou that I find stylish/inspiring/nauseating/whathaveyou. You could say they're what I would be wearing today? Maybe who I wish I was today???

Can we get through a post without some sort of reference to a 60's rockstar? No? Okay, just making sure. I don't find The Who to be a particularly stylish group, I mean, they did the mod thing well, but from the summer of love look and beyond NOT SO MUCH (ie Roger's floral, what I call "table cloth", he does own his fringe though, in my opinion). But this jacket of Pete's is amazing, an amazing photo really. One of my favorites. Fucking watermarks.

SOUL is just as important as STYLE. I need to do a whole post elaborating, but I had to squeeze in some Otis because I always dress myself with a soul infused soundtrack.
