VINTAGE ESPIONAGE

Haven't really had time to put together a coherent post since I've been gallivanting around since I was let out for summer. In the meantime, here's some pictures I've taken with my cell while out shopping. Uhh they're rather dark and green (Like zombie or gangrene photos?) but I think you can get the gist of some rather cool footwear.

These are very, very nice. The leather was perfect on these! I left them, though, because they're a bit too dressy to translate well into my wardrobe.

After I so gingerly shoved the newspaper back into the shoes, I thought it was cool that the newspaper looked like wings coming out of the shoes.

Cool pair of black boots...

I love tanned leather! These were too small for my feet though...

Love the snakeskin detail on these! These read Keith Richards year 3000 to me. Would've gotten em but they were too big!

I'm not really into white shoes, but these were a very nice muted shade of white (not like you can tell from my shitty pic, you'll have to take my word for it I guess...). Too small though! Playing vintage Goldilocks can be very frustrating!

BOOTS CAPTURED IN MOTION

I finally got around to capturing my favorite moment in ankle boot cinematic history, Keith Richard's python boots from Gimme Shelter. The few fleeting moments they are on screen have been etched into my styling DNA - epitomizing the trashy glamour and laissez-faire attitude of The Stones.

LOVE the red satin with the python boots.

The crowning detail...

The footage:

Another moment I captured is Joe Cocker's boots from his Woodstock performance. My dad and I were watching it together, and when they appeared on screen I was about to say how cool they are, but my dad beat me to it and said it first haha!

& the footage:

I mostly did this post for myself because I just wanted to have decent photos of the boots LOL. I was pretty busy this weekend and my dad's out of town until Wednesday, so expect an outfit post somewhere around then! Just thought I'd post something to fill the void haha, now I'm gonna go hug my snakeskin boots.

SNAKESKIN

I'm wearing my new vintage (oxymoron?) snakeskin boots with a red button up of my dad's, American Apparel tank top, skull bracelets from a flea market in the mountains, belt from a flea market at sea level, watch of my dad's, and Cheap Monday pants. I think I'm a bit sunburned here from SF. Doesn't matter though, I'm a blogger not a model.

I'm super excited about these boots, there's something so alluring to me about snakeskin. Sexy and rock and roll at the same time, especially in a sharp ankle boot form. You guys should be excited too, because you get to see a whole lot of them here! Maybe not too soon though, since it's scorching here. Anyway, here's some snakeskin inspiration of mine:

Raquel Zimmerman in an editorial styled by Carine Roitfeld and shot by Juergen Teller from Paris Vogue mai 2009. Check out the whole editorial over at les scans de Diorette. The whole issue has a lot of snakeskin inspired fashions in it, if you're a fan I suggest taking a look at the issue.

Jane from Sea of Shoes with her Maison Martin Margiela python clutch.

Chauss from Je Ne Sais Quoi with her Rick Owens snakeskin sharkfinned ankle boots (A bit of a mouthful, non?).

Hanh from Life in Travel wears a snakeskin Prada top and belt with her Marni snakeskin pumps.

This is barely scratching the surface of snakeskin, but it's some of the essentials. My mind is buzzing with inspiration. Don't forget to enter the giveaway!
